Meet the Interns


Ian Badeer- Digital Intermediate TechnicianIan Profile

Ian has spent five-years in the computer industry. He specializes in hardware support and, working with Stephen Pappas, was on the team responsible for downloading, backing up, and managing all of the main footage shot on One Good Man.  He is a published author, having his first novella, Playoff Time, published at the age of 18. Ian also has a significant background in the performing arts, with over eight years of acting in stage, theater, and film, including a role in Come What May and the lead role in the upcoming action short 2044: The Underground.

As Meagan has had a desire to pursue a career in Christian stage or film, God has been there opening doors. She recently won the Director’s Award at Bob Jones University’s Drama Camp and was thrilled with the opportunity to work with AFG on One Good Man. She will be attending Bob Jones this next year as a Dramatic Productions major and plans on becoming an independent filmmaker.

Logan Herche – Video AssistLogan profile

Logan has devoted much of his life to art and performance. After being inducted into the National Christian Forensics and Communications Hall of Fame, Logan focused his interests on movie making. With over six years of visual effects experience under his belt Logan has been accepted to Vancouver Film School’s prestigious 3D Animation and Visual Effects program. Logan has been described as a workoholic in some areas, but he prefers to think of himself as motivated. One Good Man is Logan’s sixth film.

Clairen ProfileClairen Kearney Office PA/Makeup

Although Clairen’s background has been in live performance like dance and competitive speech/ debate, her film career has been more diverse. After working in Wardrobe on two short films in Denver, her part in the One Good Man project has been as Office PA and as Hair/Makeup Trainee. Clairen’s brother Austin, who starred in Come What May and is now working as an Electric PA, says, “Clairen is the best sister in the history of ever.”

Matthew Shaw—Behind the Scenes PA/Set MedicMatthew profile

Matthew’s publications include news articles for Christian Press and a short story for descant. He is currently completing a novel called Drache. Although his filmography is limited to “a very poor adaptation of Evangeline” for a college English class, he is learning the ropes like an out-of-work actor on a sailing vessel. As a paid-call fire fighter and an EMT, he has experience in pre-hospital medicine, thus filling the role of Set Medic.

Steve JohnstonSteve Johnston-Storyboard Artist

Film making was never in Steve’s plans when he decided to be an artist. However, after attending the premier of Come What May, he became a fan and signed up for the mailing list. Later, he received word that Brightline Pictures/Advent Film Group was looking for an artist to draw storyboards, which are sketches of each shot made during pre-production. Steve wanted to offer his talent but had doubts. Then his dad encouraged him and convinced him to try for the job. Since Steve has joined the production, his drawings have helped the team visualize the scenes and plan the timing of the shots, which is invaluable in the film making process.

Buddy Martin-Behind the Scenes Sound and Editing

Buddy profileRyne “Buddy” Martin first started his work for Advent Film Group 2 years ago when he helped edit the Behind the Scenes video for Come What May. His sister Brook was Prop Master for the Come What May pickups and helped him make the connection with AFG. Buddy’s skills as an editor have continued to improve and now he is the primary editor for the BTS team. He also works with the cameras and throws a mean fastball.
